Veterans' Day Program
Hallettsville Veterans will be celebrated in a Veterans' Day Program which will begin at 9:40 Monday morning. The program will last about one hour and will include a variety of activities. The C. E. King High School JROTC students will perform an Armed and Unarmed Drill for a crowd expected to approach 1,000. We will also introduce individual veterans and leaders of the veteran's organizations. The presentation of a wreath by the FFA students and reading of the names of those veterans who have passed since last year's program will be a solemn part of the program. The playing of Taps will follow.
The C. E. King students will also perform for the Elementary School in the elementary gym and for Sacred Heart in their gym.
Please come and be a part of the program. Keep in mind that seating will be very limited.

Principal's Message
I am Dr. Garth Oliver, the oldest of two boys. My brother Trace lives in Hallettsville. He came to visit me and really liked the town so much that he moved. My father, Ray, is deceased and my mother, Kay, lives four blocks from me in Schulenburg at College Place Assisted Living. My amazing wife is Monica Weber Oliver from Dickinson Texas. We have no children, but she loves our two dogs as though they were children.
I was born in Sweeny, Texas and lived there until I was seven. I then moved to southeast Missouri until I was twelve; and then moved back to Texas where I graduated from Bay City High School in 1981. I have also lived in Hawaii and South Carolina. Most of my forty something years have been in small towns, some larger and some smaller than Hallettsville so I am very comfortable here and I really enjoy my job.
This is an avocation for me and I have grown into the position of principal through being a high school teacher, a career and technology teacher, a university instructor at Clemson University and University of Houston, and a High School Assistant Principal in Houston. I have landed on a slice of heaven here in Hallettsville and I am proud to serve your children and this community. If there is anything I can do to assist your student in his/her education, you can count on me.
